Although I'm already gone from the game I thought I'd post one last time. (Encore)
Invitation
It is very obvious where CCP's loyalties are right now, there's no way to deny it anymore considering the way the game has (de)evolved since Dominion.
Now, to anyone reading this, unless you are plexed into oblivion I suggest you cancel your account if you haven't already. As some troll mentioned earlier reactivating is easy, so if CCP sees the light again (don't hold your breath please) in the course of the next couple of months you can always come back.
But for now the best way to pressure them to answer to our demands and make the changes needed is hitting them where they hurt the most: Their wallets.
No matter how well seated the higher ups are, if their stupid decisions start costing the company enough money heads will roll. And they will be more than happy to display them on the central plaza in Jita for all the Capsuleers to see. In an attempt to gain our money back of course.
We've been through this crap many times before with crappy corporations, gankings and just good old lulz. So, if you think they are underestimating you I invite you to show them what a (very legal) players' wardec can do to their company. And don't forget to leave them a nice farewell message on the comments/feedback section while cancelling.
And add 2 cancelled accounts (plus another 2 I didn't reactivate due to recent events) to the list should you happen to be counting them. Benri out. __________

Originally by: Lyris Nairn So how many of the angry people showing up to in-game protests are actually going to quit the game? Most people are just going to stick to the game even if it goes a way they don't want it to go. CCP is counting on that. We'll see if all this threadnaughting accomplishes anything when July and August roll around and we're able to see how many players are still subscribed.
A LOT of people who are online protesting right now have already cancelled, but depending on their subscriptions they can still play a few days or more.
Wait a few weeks and then you'll see what happens once the new billing cycle hits. |

Hey CCP Pann, let me ask you something. What's your position about this?
________
sent by hilmar to ccp global list-
(strt)
We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

Originally by: Adamas Anax There is a very simple solution here, you don't like or agree with the system....DON'T BUY THE PRODUCTS. You vote with your wallet, not with your nerdrage folks. And, if you truly think that new products will unbalance the game, simply TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!
That's what we are doing. But since we can still post and log on while the sub runs out of time we are (obviously hopelessly) hoping we can make CCP change it's course. And it's a nice way to kill time if you've already uninstalled the client and can't join the riots in Jita. |

Hence the desperate need for rushing Incarna to try selling 80 bucks monocles and game enhancing items very soonÖ.
It will be fun to watch how they milk the people staying though. |

Dear Miilla, I believe I speak for all of us when I say: Nobody cares about you. Unsub and unplug, because you clearly hate this game, it's players and it's creators. I've only one thing I ask of you and it is this. Leave and never return.
1) No you don't speak for any of us, just for yourself. 2) CCP are the ones who hate EVE and just see it as a milk generator for other projects. 3) If this bothers you that much just go play the game, don't mind us crazy people. You have better things to do. |

Originally by: Kailithi LoL, I get Develop mag but I'm been too ill to worry about trade mags - until a forum poster gave this link http://www.develop-online.net/news/38025/CCP-Games-boss-headlines-GameHorizon :
CCP Games boss headlines GameHorizon "Hilmar Petursson, the CEO of Icelandic mega-studio CCP Games, is scheduled to make an industry address at this yearÆs GameHorizon."
Posted this for the game developers :
I find it deliciously ironic Hilmar Petursson, the CEO of Icelandic mega-studio CCP Games is a headline speaker at the GameHorizon summit given review by his dev staff (on glassdoor.com) repeatedly say the management won't talk with them, that leaked internal documents and emails (from said disgruntled staff) and game changes have inflamed player base to EvE to post some 314 pages - 9,400 angry posts (and rising fast) - and Mr Hilmar and his management have blanked them. At last count over 3,500 players are said to have cancelled their accounts in the past few and a lot more will follow.
It should be noted the "Eve OnlineÆs gargantuan PC community." is currently in uproar and facing a mass exodus of players and the best their CEO could do was send it a developer to enflame the situation by going on about his $1,000 jeans.
If the leaked internal memo is true it should be an interesting talk he gives. "Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say"
If the threads on the forums, on Twitter and elsewhere are any guide, he's just lost $1,000,0000 a year in subscriptions. Silence is Golden - but not if you kill the golden goose (as they described their subscribers).

DID CCP hire a PR firm to do damage control and had a bunch of them start up accounts to post on the forums.
Id laugh about the tinfoil hat, but is has been done by other companies in the past. OR is it sony doing Damage control now?
Making PR contracts takes time after all. And their responses and arguments are awfully familiar aren't they? So I'm still thinking the sell out isn't any work of fiction. |

Originally by: Loredona LaPrad CCP is in major damage control right now. But there can only be one fix for this issue and that is for Hilmar Veigar PTtursson (CCP CEO) to resign !!!!! His comments are not that of a CEO, especially when they directly attack the games community. Have him publicly apologize to the community in a pod cast, Massive EVE in-game mail, online blogs on all accounts and so forth and admit he is an ARSE-HOLE !!!! Then once he resigns, compensate all the players for his ignorant Fvck-Face comments about the community by giving three months of PLEX to each subscribed member, including active but cancelled accounts. Keep to their promise and not do to EVE what SOE, Blizzard and other companies have done to their games that eventually destroyed them.
I think Hilmars' Resignation would be a huge step in mending the relationship CCP has with its customers.
** EVERYONE PETITION CCP AND CALL FOR A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN CEO PETURSSON AND REQUEST THAT HE BE FORCED TO RESIGN OR FACE LOSING EVERY SUBSCRIBER THAT THEY HAVE**
***** CEO PETURSSON RESIGN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! *****
gotta say i completly agree....CEOs have been forced to resign over less issues then this...the guy came out and pretty much insulted the fanbase of his game...id like to see him either apologize or gtfo.
We are way beyond the apologize stage, he and his supporters need to go. |

No gold ammo means less work for them since they wont need to make gold missile textures. Problem is the normally colored Aurum ammo that will deal 50% more damage than anything a player can build in TQ. |

You think CCP will give the CSM the powers to change their last 3 years of revenue planning?
Sad but true, there's a real possibility it's already too late (like 2-3 years too late) and there will be nothing but a slow and painful death for the game with a very plausible sellout in the near future. |

Funny you mention it
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=252
used to link to the "new" broken forums, after that poopoo went down this link started just redirecting to current forums.
BUT for the last couple of days it gives
"You do not have permission to view this directory or page."
So this is indeed their clean up run before the sale. After everyone protesting is gone they will just move the bent over players to the new forums and start the new EVE.
It makes me sick, but that's how these things go. |

If that is indeed the case (oh who am I kidding, it is) they are going to need very convincing arguments to make guys like me resub and to keep the guys waiting for the meeting before deciding whether to cancel or not.
Which is one of the reasons I want them to broadcast the meeting live, alliance tournament style. |

I'm sure most of us just want to see EVE back into a better state (in my case post Apoc.) And CCP had plenty of chances of solving this but went with the mysteryous "I'm hinding a dagger to stab you in the back" approach.
So, if EVE died due to this unrest it would be a direct consequence of CCP's actions. If all the economic data is true then EVE's death has been at least 3 years in the making. The protest and lack of confidence would just be the final push off the ledge but Hilmar&co. walked all the way there by themselves. |
